Chiew graduated from the Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2016. He started his legal career in Messrs William Leong & Co until he was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2018. Chiew was then made a Partner in Messrs William Leong & Co with just 3 years into his legal career. In December 2021, he then joined the firm as a Partner.

Chiew excels in general civil litigation, criminal litigation, construction law, defamation, and constitutional law. He has gathered professional experience over the years, including matters related to construction, administration, commercial, public interest litigation, and probate matters.

Chiew advocates for social justice and uses his professional experience to bring social and political reforms. He believes in constant growth, which led him to earn a Masters's degree in law from the University of Malaya in 2020. He joined KK Tan and Partners with the mission to promote equality and speak up against unfair dealings in society. He also works as the legal adviser for various social organisations.
